Introducing the New Stand-Alone Fraction Collector for Preparative LC from Gilson Controlled by Pocket PC

(GuelphON. CAN) - Mandel Scientific Company Inc., in collaboration with Gilson Inc., is pleased to introduce the Gilson prepFC™ (Ethernet) Fraction Collector to the Canadian market.

Gilson, a leader in preparative purification, has designed this innovative instrument with the durability, flexibility and ease of use that has distinguished Gilson instruments in a wide range of research and market applications, from drug discovery to environmental, food and clinical applications.

An ideal semi-preparative to preparative fraction collector for any HPLC system, the new prepFC™ is capable of communicating via contact closures. The instrument features stand-alone operation for fraction collection, communicates through Ethernet and is controlled with a Pocket PC running prepFC™ Control Software.

The prepFC™ (Ethernet) can collect at flow rates of up to 200 mL/min, is able to perform repetitive collection loops, and can configure up to four fraction collectors serially for added fraction capacity. It has a narrow footprint and an innovative method for elevating the tray to accommodate various size vessels.

The prepFC™ (Ethernet) can also incorporate Code 90 Series Racks for holding large volume bottles up to one liter. With the stand-alone ability through Pocket PC control and Ethernet connectivity, the prepFC™ (Ethernet) is a separate and distinct offer from prepFC™ v1.0, based on criteria defined by the user.

An automated system for post-extraction clean-up by Gel Permeation Chromatography

Gilson Inc., an industry leader in purification systems for HPLC and SPE, now offers a solution for automated post-extraction clean-up of interfering substances from environmental samples, food products and animal tissue by Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) prior to analysis by GC, GC/MS, HPLC or LC/MS. Gilson’s new automated system removes the interfering compounds after sample extraction and prior to analysis while also improving the optimal analytical results, lengthening hardware life (including column life) and increasing your analytical system’s uptime.
The Automated GX-271 GPC Clean-up System provides an affordable solution for laboratories performing residue analysis of complex matrices such as fatty foods, soils, sludge, animal and plant tissue. The system features a Direct Injection Module and a fraction collection valve located on the Z-arm, increasing efficiency by reducing sample carryover and post valve dead volume.
