The Westco Scientific Instruments EASY Digest 40/20 acid digests environmental and agricultural samples precisely every time. The digestor protocols duplicate procedures established by regulatory agencies such as the EPA and AOAC and are applicable for inorganic sediments, sludges and oils following USEPA CLP guidelines. The "smart" digestor greatly simplifies sample preparation for analysis by air segmented or flow injection techniques. The digestor is controlled by a precise microprocessor ensuring proper conditions every time. Digestions are exactly replicated independent of ambient variations.

The EASY-Digest 40/20 has three components, all designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of your wet digestion procedures.

• Block Heater — The heating element is continuous throughout the block which guarantees greater temperature uniformity and stability. The precision-drilled wells are of the tightest tolerances which minimizes air gaps between the block and the digestion flasks. The result is improved heat transfer.
  
  
• Solid State Controller With Digital Display – The new EASY-Digest 40/20 controller is designed for use with Westco's Easy-Dist and Easy-Dist Jr. This incredibly flexible controller allows users to program heating profiles with up to 8 stages. Users now have the ability to handle a variety of samples with the level of control necessary to eliminate excessive bumping and/or boilovers.
  
  The controller will store 2 permanent programs that can be easily recalled into a working menu. The working menu can be modified without affecting the permanent programs. The easy-to-read LED displays programming parameters as well as digestion status.
  
  
• Volumetric Tubes Stand and Retainer Plate –
  Each EASY-Digest 40/20 is supplied with 1 set of thick-walled, glass digestion tubes with volumetrically calibrated marks at 75 ml (BD40) 100 ml or 250 ml (BD20). The stand holds the tubes during the digestion process, as well as during cooling, dilution, washing and weighing of samples. Specially-designed side plates snap onto the stand during heating to minimize temperature fluctuations during digestion. A retainer plate locks the tubes in position in the rack, allowing the entire assembly to be turned upside down facilitating cleaning and drying the tubes.
