 HERAsafe® KS safety cabinets are renowned for their performance, reliability and ease of use. They are functionally advanced, easy to clean and simple to maintain. The safety cabinets are fully modular and can easily be configured to meet very specific laboratory requirements.
The HERAsafe KS features a segmented filter that purifies inlet and exhaust air 100,000 times more effectively than conventional 2-filter systems, making this cabinet ideal for prion research or toxicology studies. This unique filtering system also:
- Eliminates contamination risk of internal air ducts. An additional segmented HEPA filter, for 99.999% absorption at the particle size of 0.3 microns, is fitted below the work area – ensuring that all interior work surfaces remain sterile
- Reduces maintenance tasks. Filter cartridges easily snap into place over a gasket and can easily be sealed and replaced while the cabinet is in operation with no risk of contamination. Filters are safely disposed of
by incineration.

No operator fatigue – A relaxed working posture helps to prevent back and shoulder aches, so operators can work in comfort for hours at a time. Ergonomically designed arm rests give greater control and help to minimize any risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The support frame height is fully adjustable, so users can work standing up.
Ultimate contamination protection – The aerosol-tight motor driven front window prevents contaminants from entering or leaving the work area – even in stand-by mode – and eliminates time consuming taping of the window before decontamination. Users can set parameters using the hand-held remote control.
Complete interior access -- Hinged front window allows full access to the interior for thorough cleaning and disinfection and easy loading/unloading of items.
At-a-glance monitoring -- The unique eye-level display on the rear wall eliminates the need to lean awkwardly to read parameters or check operational status. The display indicates downflow rate, total operating hours and alerts. The display also shows a ‘PER’ Performance Factor, which advises the current safety status between certifications using a relative measure that considers air flow, operating time and filter status.
Flexible configuration – The HERAsafe KS cabinet provides optional ports for gas, water, and vacuum in the side panels or rear wall.
