PAGE-PLUS is a superior polyacrylamide matrix designed for resolving DNA sequencing products and low molecular weight DNA that out performs standard acrylamide/bis-acrylamide blends. This blend of specially modified acrylamides and proprietary cross-linker enables researchers to gather up to 40% more readable sequence information per sequencing gel. The unique formulation of PAGE-PLUS gels leads to improved resolution, consistent band spacing, and faster running time over standard bis-acrylamide cross-linked gels. This novel matrix also exhibits increased mechanical strength to resist tearing during post-electrophoresis manipulations.

Also available is the DNA Sequencing Gel & Buffer Kit (PAGE-PLUS). This convenient kit contains three ready-to-use concentrated solutions for use in making the gels: Acrylamide DNA Sequencing Solution, 40% (with PAGE-PLUS), DNA Sequencing Buffer, 10X, and a Urea Solution, 7M. All that is needed is to pipette the three solutions (according to suggested volumes), add TEMED and APS, and cast the gel.

PAGE-PLUS has been proven effective for use on a number of different gel sequencing platforms. The following are some examples of data obtained from various sequencers. PAGE-PLUS can be optimized for specific run conditions and platforms by adjusting acrylamide as well as urea and TBE concentrations.

ABI PRISM® (Fig. 1)
PAGE-PLUS has been widely used and tested with both the ABI PRISM 373 and 377 using various plate types and sizes as well as different run modules and run conditions. The following is an example of data obtained with an ABI 377.

LI-COR® (Fig. 2)
PAGE-PLUS has effectively been used for long, accurate reads on the LI-COR IR2 sequencer. The following is an example of 1300bp read length with 99.2% accuracy!
