BOD AssayPlus™
BOD AssayPlus

Accurate Measurements
Checks all measurements and flags any sample that does not meet user-specified stability criteria

Automated Flexible Flowing Rinse Station
Ensures accurate, reproducible results

Streamlined Sample Entry
Quick, efficient system for creating daily worklists minimizes the time needed to set up and start an analytical run

Automatic Corrections
Select and apply corrections automatically for pre-dilution, blanks, seed addition, spikes, salinity, temperature and incubation periods

Analyzes 250 Bottles/Run
Analyzes 24 bottles per rack (using 300ml glass or disposable bottles) and up to 250 bottles per run list

Archives, Prints And Exports Data After Each Run
Results are automatically exported to any LIMS, and custom printable reports may be set up

Meets Bod Method Requirements
The 24-place rack BOD AssayPlus™ system meets the recent EPA approved 20th Edition of Standard Method, which states that "4g. ...the time period between preparing dilution and measuring initial DO is not critical but should not exceed 30min. ; 4j. ...after 5 d incubation determine DO in sample dilutions, blanks, and checks as in 4g” or within 30 minutes of removing from the incubator and uncapped".

Large capacity rack systems will not meet this 30 minute requirement when taking into account probe stability and rinse times. It is therefore advantageous with large BOD throughput requirements to utilize 2 or more 24-place rack systems, which also offers back up capabilities if needed

Automated Check Sample Analysis
System integrity is maintained, giving the user confidence in analysis results

Define Up To 12 Bottles Per Sample
Save all samples in a database complete with dilutions required
Simply select the sample and all bottles are automatically entered into the worklist

There are three BOD AssayPlus™ Models each including the following:

PBM-222BOD/10

AssayPlus™ software, with autosampler, 2 x 24 place racks, oxygen meter and disolved oxygen probe with stirrer, rinse station with rinse pump controlled by software, probe holder, overflow tray.

PBM-222BOD/20

Same as PBM-222BOD/10 PLUS pump and liquid level sensor for automated addition of dilution water to the bottles.

PBM-222BOD/30

Same as PBM-222BOD/20 PLUS pump for automated addition of seed to the bottles.

With the fully aut mated PBM-222BOD/30, the BOD AssayPlus™ automatically adds the specified amount of seed solution, automatically dilutes the sample and automatically rinses the dissolved oxygen probe after each sample. The BOD AssayPlus™ software automatically corrects for dilution, blanks, seed addition, temperature and incubation periods.

Streamlined Sample Entry
A key element of BOD AssayPlus™ is the quick, efficient system for creating daily
worklists, minimizing the time needed to set up and start an analytical run.

  • Regularly-run samples are entered one time and saved for future use
  • Groups of samples can be saved and recalled with a single key press,
    e.g. “Tuesday’s batch”
  • An expansion feature automatically creates an entry in the worklist
    for each required dilution
  • User defined defaults for parameters such as dilutions and seed amount
    speed up sample entry

Integrated Qc Charting

BOD AssayPlus™ includes integrated QC samples and creates
up to the minute charts, formatted to your specifications. The charts can be
printed, displayed or copied to the Windows clipboard for transfer to
other applications, such as a word processor or spreadsheet.

Calculations

  • Automatic corrections for spiked samples, blanks and standards
  • Check for supersaturated samples
  • Check initial and final temperatures
  • Apply sample averaging rules, e.g. “Take 2, Leave 1” rule
  • Apply various seed, spike and blank correction rules
  • Automatic blank checks
  • Volumes expressed in ml or %
  • Correct incubation period to 5-day BOD
  • Automatic calibration
  • Correct for pre-dilution
  • Flag out-of-range, problem samples
