What is Shimadzu EZStart?
EZStart is a low-cost, non-upgradeable chromatography software based on CLASS-VP Client/Server software with limited functionality and a fixed instrument configuration. Shimadzu EZStart
is the ideal solution for laboratories wanting a simple-to-use chromatography data system with comprehensive software features and instrument control. It is intended to provide the basic
requirements for data acquisition and optional instrument control for a single workstation. Shimadzu EZStart consists of two software modules: EZStart Configuration and EZStart Software.
With EZStart, instrument control and analysis is reduced to just 3 steps: Configure, Run and Report.

Simple configuration
Shimadzu EZStart allows for the installation of any one of the extensive choices of GC or HPLC control options with PDA control. This is ideal for laboratories that have legacy equipment
with digital control capability. Configure it with Scientific Software’s renowned SS420x and collect data from any instrument providing an analog output. If the same instrument is
always used, configuration need not be repeated.
Run in one window
Once the instrument is configured, any user can launch EZStart, immediately choose a method, and submit samples for acquisition. All this operation is done in EZStart’s Single
Window Access environment - a design that greatly simplifies tasks for the casual or novice user. Either single runs or sequence runs can be performed. Users can still take advantage of
the intelligent features in SmartSequence, a powerful tool that automates much of the decision-making process based on user-defined criteria. If methods or sequences need to be created
from scratch, our simple wizards will guide you through a stepwise process.
Graphic reports
Within any method exists a report template. Users simply select from standard templates and can produce the reports they require.
Communication options
HPLC instrument control can be performed through SCL-10Avp or LC-2010 only (RS-232 I/F or SCSI or TCP/IP). Digital Acquisition only. For GC Control, RS-232 I/F will be required and
acquisition through SS420X.
Computer requirements
EZStart software requires Windows XP (SP1), Windows 2000 (SP3), or Windows NT 4 (SP6). Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or greater is also required. Recommended system: Pentium IV
(800MHz), 256 MB RAM, 20 GB hard disk space.
