Infrared fluorescence detection has changed Western blotting (immunoblotting) by providing unparalleled quantification accuracy and simultaneous two-color multiplexed detection. Simultaneous two-color detection allows detection of both total protein as well as the amount of protein phosphorylation without stripping and reprobing.

LI-COR’s Western blotting kits provide a convenient way to purchase reagents and membranes that are optimized for infrared fluorescence detection on the Odyssey and Automated infrared imaging systems. The Western blotting kits provide enough secondary antibodies, blocking buffer, and membranes for 10 Western blots. Kits are available with either PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes. Secondary antibodies in each kit are cross-absorbed for multiplex detection and provide high specificity.
