Pipetman P500 and P10ml are commonly used in chemistry laboratories to transfer corrosive reagents. Aerosols or droplets of these liquids entering the pipette tip holder can corrode the metal piston. The protective filter fitted in the tip-holder preserves piston life and prevents contamination. A new protective filter has been especially designed to be fitted on either the P5000 or P10ml. It replaces the current P5000 cellulose and P10ml filters. This high resistance polyethylene filter resists most laboratory reagents. The filter can be autoclaved, separately from the tips holder, at 121°C, 0.1MPa for 20 minutes.
