The MBS Satellite Thermal Cycler (MBS) is a cost-effective and flexible solution for networked PCR. The MBS combines the latest in satellite block technology, user friendly software and PC control, resulting in a system that provides users greater efficiency, flexibility and sophistication. Designed to satisfy your demands today and expand to meet your requirements in the future, the MBS is unlike other multiple block systems available. With the MBS you can add single or multiple blocks, as you need! Whether you need to perform a few simple PCRs or require a high throughput system with more advanced data recording facilities for GLP, the MBS offers the flexibility to be your system of choice.
Features:
-
Control and tracebility using our user friendly software
- Flexibility of adding one block at a time as your needs grow
- Confidence in your PCR performance with real-time temperature tracking and historical block - essential for GLP
- Space saving - unique design means you can place satellite blocks side by side maximizing your lab space
- Cost effective START-UP kits now available to reduce the cost of entry
- True walk away PCR - MBSR robot compatible satellite block now available!
Flexible
The MBS offers complete customer flexibility, with capacity for up to 30 individual satellite blocks on the one system. It is possible to start off with any number of blocks within this range and as your needs change, you can add single or multiple blocks to customise the system to your requirements. Satellite blocks are available in 0.2ml (gradient or standard), 0.5ml (gradient or standard) or 384 well format (standard).
Space Efficient
The MBS satellite blocks can be positioned wherever you want them. They can be next to each other or at opposite ends of the laboratory. This allows you the freedom to design a network, which maximises your laboratory space.
Uniformity
The excellent block uniformity of the PCR Express has been continued with the MBS. We guarantee ±0.4°C across the block within 15 seconds of reaching the target temperature. This block uniformity ensures consistent results in every well.
Accuracy
The MBS offers both active tube control, and simulated temperature control methods. Whichever method is used, optimisation is both easy and accurate, and results are highly reproducible. Optimisation of annealing temperatures is particularly easy with the thermal gradient blocks available.
Quality
The MBS uses eight peltiers, which are robust and fast. Uniform heating rates of up to 3°C/sec allow rapid generation of robust, reproducible data.
Adjustable Heated Lid
All the MBS units have heated lids as standard, ensuring easy to use oil free thermal cycling with tubes and plates from any manufacturer. The user can alter the lid pressure with a simple turn of a dial. Icons on top if the dial indicate the relative pressures for the different consumables. The pressure from the heated lid ensures a firm seal on both polycarbonate and polypropylene plates.
Ideal Core Facility
The MBS is an ideal core facility. Using a computer to control the satellite blocks means that the system can store an unlimited number of programs for an unlimited number of users. In the unlikely event that the hard drive becomes full then floppy disks can be used as well.
MBS Software
The MBS comes with advanced intuitive software. It has been specially designed for the molecular biologist:-
- A large, graphical, easy to use interface
- Independent programming of each individual satellite block
- Personal directories and file storage, making it ideal as a multi-user instrument
- At a glance block status report
- Real time block data, essential for GLP
