Detector™ Block is recommended as a general blocking agent for use in membrane-based detection assays. Its proprietary two-component formulation offers superior blocking of background without reducing signal intensity as may occur with traditional blocking solutions (ie., milk, BSA, casein). As a diluent for conjugated proteins and antibodies, it prevents nonspecific binding of the conjugate to other proteins and to the membrane. Detector™ Block can be used as both a blocking solution and a conjugate diluent for Western, Northern and Southern blots on a variety of membranes.
