HistoMark® RED and HistoMark® BLUE systems contain reagents for the detection of alkaline phosphatase-labeled conjugates. HistoMark® RED reagents form a brilliant scarlet reaction product that is stable in organic solvents. Sections reacted with HistoMark® RED can be dehydrated through graded alcohols and xylene, then mounted in xylene-based mounting media for permanent documentation.
The hematoxylin counterstain, Contrast BLUE, provides sharp contrast and excellent nuclear detail. HistoMark® BLUE reagents produce a royal blue reaction product that is alcohol soluble, and aqueous mounting media must be used. Contrast RED, a nuclear counterstain formulated from nuclear Fast Red, provides excellent nuclear detail.
